Also Urgent
Though helping fishermen to get
back their tools of trade is the aim of this endeavour, there
are more immediate needs which we cannot ignore.
While
carrying out a survey for determining what the fishermen using
catamarans needed Tiago et Maguendram became aware of the distressing
situation of certain communities in isolated zones.
These
people are far removed from the network of distribution channels
established by the government and international organisations.
We have to thus:
- intervene directly in these villages
and supply them with the most urgent and basic commodities :
cotton sheets, nutritive supplements especially for children,
vital ingredients and utensils for cooking..
- organise the distribution for the
families identified
so that the distribution can
take place with dignity and quietness
Tiago et Maguendram have been visiting
and making a list of many such villages without sufficient aid.
We hope that the funds will allow us to extend our help more
to the South.
We also hope we
can stretch our aid beyond the urgency of the situation and be
present on a long tem basis for this deeply traumatised population.
